Tuscarawas Community Foundation
The Foundation is a community endowment fund that accepts monetary donations and bequests of any size. Those funds are managed by a volunteer board of community leaders and the profits are used to support projects that will improve the lives of Tuscarawas County residents.
The ways in which the Foundation has assisted in building up area residents and communities are as varied as the needs of our citizens. The Foundation has donated money to area food banks to ease the immediate needs of our neighbors. The Foundation has assisted the Tuscarawas County Library in purchasing materials for our friends, both young and old, to enjoy. The Foundation has assisted the Village of Baltic in its quest to build a heliport to give residents of that area greater access to emergency care. The Foundation regularly assists dozens of area students in achieving their goals of higher education through scholarships.

Community Benefit Fund
Ohio EPA and the Ohio Attorney General’s Office have finalized an agreement with Republic Services of Ohio for the future operation and management of Countywide Landfill located at 3619 Gracemont Street SW in East Sparta (Stark County). A complaint and consent order, filed today with the Stark County Court of Common Pleas, also includes civil penalties totaling $10 million.

New police and fire vehicles, parks and ball fields, roads and sidewalks, and many other civic projects are on the way to southern Stark and northern Tuscarawas counties. Ohio EPA Director Chris Korleski has allocated $3 million in civil penalty money to more than 50 projects that will benefit communities once impacted by nuisance odors emanating from Countywide Landfill in East Sparta.
“It is truly satisfying to know better days are ahead for the more than two dozen
municipalities and non-profit organizations receiving money,” said Korleski. “Many of these projects promise to benefit the region for generations to come.”

If you fail to come in to show an ID after the 10 days your provisional ballot will not be counted.
